MY STORY
Part 11
My sister’s friend was looking into breast explant removal surgery. She has had six sets in a short period of time. She has had difficulties with each set of her breast implants and so she decided to look into having them removed. She has had unexplained health issues and decided to do more research thinking maybe itis the implants that are causing her health issues. She would send information to my sister because she knew that, I too, had implants and was having a lot of health problems. My sister forwarded the information to me and I ignored it. I was not ready to acknowledge that maybe my implants were causing the many health issues I was dealing with.
In April, 2024, my son came to me and said, “Mom, you are the cleanest eater I know and you are still struggling with your health. My wife and I have been talking and you only have two things that are not real in your body. Your implants!!! We think you should reach out to a mutual friend. She had breast implant removal surgery years ago and it improved her health tremendously.
I texted our friend about her surgery and she said, “You need to get rid of those girls!” She sent me some links to look at as well to make a decision as to whether explant surgery would benefit me. The information she sent me was the same information I ignored that my sister sent me. I was getting the hint. I looked at the links and read the information and decided that I wanted those “girls” out yesterday!
I told my husband that the implants needed to go. I felt very strongly about that. I was surprised that he said, “If you think that will help, then you should get them removed.” I communicated with my sister’s friend. She was in Mexico at the time. She was going to have her implants removed on May 7, 2024, in Guadalajara, Mexico. I contemplated that as well. I was going to schedule my implant removal on May 7, in Guadalajara. I even attended a consultation with her doctor in Mexico through a zoom meeting. I just didn’t feel good about my decision. One night I didn’t sleep thinking about my situation. Finally, through divine inspiration, I decided that since I had the implants put in in Utah, I would have the implants removed in Utah. Everything started to fall into place. I found a board-certified doctor for explant removal and scheduled my surgery for May 20, 2024. I felt good about my decision.
On May 20, 2024 I had my explant surgery at the 22 Plastic Surgery. It took me a little bit to heal but I am so glad I had the surgery. It has been 2 years since that surgery and I am definitely happy “the girls” are gone.
My hands are all but healed. I still find things that my gut doesn’t like. It’s an ongoing battle as to what I can and cannot eat. When I find something that doesn’t agree with my belly, I get rid of it. Sometimes I try again to eat the food but it bites me in the butt. The assistant at Dr. Nielsen’s office told me that things you eat can stay in your body for 90 days. I finally cut dairy out of my diet. There goes my beloved ice cream. I have gone longer than 2-3 weeks between my attacks. About the only processed foods I am eating now are my Siete chips and zip fizz. I try to squeeze in a little uncooked fruit and veggies, but it does catch up with me and I have attacks.
This is my life! It will be this way for the rest of my life and I’m ok with that.
